Our Client - First ScotRail - is one of the largest rail franchise in the UK, operating 341 stations and running 2,000 train services across Scotland every day.

If you join us as a member of our station staff you will be the face of First ScotRail at one of our stations, ensuring a warm greeting and supplying a higher than expected level of information. Working closely with our customers you will provide the very best in customer service you will provide a feeling of safety, security and well-being.

You will work within the station booking office offering assistance and advice to customers, making arrangements for customers with special needs providing timetable and product information, issuing travel tickets and other rail service products and dealing with all associated accountancy. You may also have to make public address announcements.

Maintenance and cleaning of station environments including platforms, waiting areas and toilets, ensuring that the station conforms to the Service Quality Incentive Regime requirements.

Skills and Requirements
If you believe you can contribute to our customers choosing to travel with us, we would like to hear from you. We are looking for evidence of a track record in delivering high levels of customer service and how you have used your excellent communications skills in previous roles. A highly motivated and flexible individual with excellent communication skills. Customer friendly focused. An effective team player who can demonstrate individual initiative. Should be able to work under pressure whilst remaining calm. Must be punctual and have basic numeracy skills.

You must also be able to demonstrate your cash handling abilities, your health and safety at work experience and your ability to manage unexpected situations constructively.

Medical Fitness
Due to the nature of the post and rail industry safety requirements there are certain medical & fitness standards that you would require to meet. Hours of Work
Flexibility is essential in order to meet shift requirements which may include early starts, late finishes and weekend working. Average of 35 hours per week.
Earliest start time will be 6.30 hours and latest finish will be 24.00 hours - over 7 days.
Hours for Thurso will be Monday to Saturday - 09.41am - 17.03pm.

Reference Salary & Benefits
On completion of all training the salary is £18,865 per annum. During the first several weeks training the salary is £12,560 per annum
Offers of employment will be subject to Disclosure Scotland and 2 satisfactory references being recieved.

Benefits include travel concessions for leisure use on all First Group services and free travel on First ScotRail services, final salary contributory pension scheme, full uniform, a commitment to full comprehensive training and development and generous holiday entitlement. Salary is by four weekly credit transfer.
