An industry leader in the production of high quality fish products, our Client seeks a Hygiene Manager to lead the Hygiene/Cleaning Team and to ensure Factory Hygiene standards are maintained at all times. This role offers the rare opportunity of a career in a successful and growing company in the Scottish Highlands.

Candidates must have experience of a similar role in a food production environment and be flexible in their approach to working hours as these vary usually between a start time of 5pm or 8pm and in exceptional circumstances, depending on the needs of the business, start times may be required out with this span.

The main responsibilities will be to manage the team by setting standards and objectives, monitoring and reviewing performance to ensure effective working at all times. The successful candidate must liaise with all Production Managers and Supervisors to ensure optimum departmental performance conducted in a manner that will protect public health and safety, and the environment by complying with all current legislative, industry, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Planning and organising team activities to ensure that customer commitments and company standards are satisfied at minimum cost without compromising product quality or service.
• Review of performance against hygiene schedules with the team to ensure that cost, quality and service levels are achieved.
• Ensuring that hygiene systems and process controls are operated.
• Ensuring team awareness of and compliance with statutory regulations and company standards concerning health and safety, quality and hygiene.
• Motivating, developing, supporting and coaching individuals to achieve maximum performance and potential.

Key skills and experience
• Previous experience of managing a team
• Previous food industry experience.
• Understanding of COSHH regulations
• Food hygiene qualification
• Excellent communicator and team player
