An excellent opportunity has arisen for an assistant engineer or technician to join an established civil engineering company based out of their head office in Inverness.
Working on a number of civil engineering projects including highways and bridges they are currently looking to strengthen their team in Inverness through this appointment.
The main function of this position is to assist the highways team to deliver their expanding project commitments and thus assist to ensure the achievement of company growth targets.
Day to day responsibilities will include
- Preparing reports, designs and specifications
- Producing or checking design calculations
- Preparing contract documentation
- Undertaking site surveys and inspections Job Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge
- A good understanding of the principles of highway design
- Working knowledge of the DMRB and MCDHW
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
- Good communication skills
- Degree or NC (or equivalent) in Civil or Highway Engineering is essential
- Experience in using software such as AUTOCAD, MX and WinDes would be advantageous
